Thanks for a nice year of skiing! We worked with a lot of variable snow conditions this year, but still had 10 club practices at Sunnycrest. The Parks Dept will not be opening the clubhouse any longer for skiing, and our club will not have any further practices. You can still ski at Sunnycrest (conditions not good on 3/22), but it will be on your own. All of the fees collected by the club ($355) were provided to the Parks Dept. to help defray costs. Thanks to Jim Beamish of Parks for grooming, and please continue to support ths Parks Dept!

SNS Bill Koch Youth Ski Club to Meet Sundays 1:30 at Sunnycrest Park
The Bill Koch Youth Ski Club will meet Sundays 1:30 to 2:45 at the Sunnycrest Park Golf clubhouse (near Caleb/Hickok Streets in Syracuse). The Club will meet when there is sufficient snow to ski. Our backup location will be Highland Forest, at the same time on Sundays if Highland has snow. Skiers will be broken into age and ability groups. The club will have ski instruction and ski games. Free youth rentals are available for youth without skis.
The Club is open to all youth ages 5 to 13. We will also accommodate high school age youth who want to ski. To register, the SNS club registration form must be filled out, along with a $20 fee per youth skier. $10 of this $20 goes directly to the City Parks Dept for the season's ski pass. Please see the club registration form and club flyer for details.
Each skier must also join NYSSRA-Nordic ($10 yearly fee, free for the first year). NYSSRA Nordic provides insurance for our club. link: www.nyssranordic.com
Weekly updates will be added at this site regarding club meetings and trail conditions at Sunnycrest. As of December 7, there is not sufficient snow to ski at Sunnycrest or Highland Forest, so there is not a practice planned for Dec. 8.

Sunnycrest Park XC Ski Trails
Sunnycrest Trails are open everyday snow permitting. The Golf clubhouse near the Hickok/Caleb intersection is open Saturdays and Sundays 10AM to 5 PM for ski rentals and light refreshments. Low trail fees are in effect for Saturday and Sundays. Ski rentals are free to youth high school age and younger.
The Syracuse Parks Department grooms the Sunnycrest trails as conditions allow. SNS will provide trail conditions based on skier reports. For trail condition information from the Parks Department call:
